The montage at the end was beautiful – it planted seeds for the future, while also having some finality to it. Chang living in the vents at City College is pretty great, as it means they can take him off the board for a bit and give us a breather. Jeff looking up his father online kind of gave me a chill, and Abed moving to a smaller Dreamatorium reminded us that even though things are better, they’re not magically fixed. The bit with StarBurns is especially funny now that House ended with Hugh Laurie pulling that exact same trick. (As did Eastbound & Down, come to think of it.) And the fact that it ended with the #sixseasonsandamovie hashtag, the one the fans adopted to support the show, well, that did my heart good. It felt like Dan Harmon and the crew were giving the fanbase a little hug.
