Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani – Last week, the judges thought she played it safe, even though she was quite good. Her most memorable year was when her first single came out and she hit bottom in regards to drug abuse. I like the way Tony is going to try and show this thematically in the choreography.
They’re dancing the Rumba to “Hold On”, which is actually her song. You know what? She’s really good at striking poses. Moreso with her arms, actually, but she has some very impressive extensions. I feel like the dance is a little slow, which might be a deliberate choice to sell the emotion. It builds to some triumphant poses, which is pretty good storytelling. I like this a lot!
