The new fall season is upon us, which at spunkybean is the most exciting time of the year. Not only do we get new episodes of our favorites, but the networks start rolling out their new shows. People like Terry O’Quinn, Andre Braugher, David Krumholtz, Connie Britton, and Giancarlo Esposito return to network TV, and everything is fresh and exciting. There are already some series hopping straight to our “must watch” lists, and some that sit there like the proverbial turds in the punch bowl. We’ve selected some top picks and also some shows that we’re dreading.
HITS Partners (CBS, Monday 8:30 PM) — From the creators of Will & Grace, and based somewhat on their own relationship (one is straight, the other is gay), this four camera sitcom gave us some real good chuckles in the preview. The two leads are dependable and likable (David Krumholtz and Michael Urie), and we like the slightly surprising choice to have Brandon Routh (the most recent Superman) play Urie’s boyfriend. Depending on how the story arcs, this could be fun. Of course, it could go the other way and let us down, but for now, we’re sort of mesmerized by The Krumholtz of it all. (Premieres September 24)
