Its companion, NTSF, is Paul Scheer’s parody of action shows like 24 or CSI: Miami.  Again, the genre is inherently ridiculous, but NTSF ratchets it up with villains like a serial killer dolphin, sentient SUV’s, and the President of Mexico (Lorenzo Lamas).  I love the expository scenes where one of the lab techs (usually Rebecca Romijn) explains in great detail how things like acronyms and footprints work, just as much as I love Trent Hauser’s impressive commitment to violence as a way to solve problems.  The supporting cast really started to develop over the season, like the rivalry between robot SAM and human Sam, or Alphonse’s constant reminders that he grew up in Alaska.  It’s goofy as hell, but so darn funny.
