view-do-listHi all! I’m writing this on Valentine’s Day. In a bathrobe. That pretty much tells you everything you need to know about my life. Please don’t weep for me, for I am already dead.

I’m going to be honest with you – there is not much on this week. America has Olympic Fever, and for the most part, new programming is staying out of the way. Even if you don’t have Olympic Fever, you still have to live with the consequences. Stephen Colbert will be doing his show from Vancouver, but not this week. In fact, even The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are in repeats this week.

Since I’m much too lazy to try to figure out what Olympic events are airing and when, I'm not including Olympic programming this week. Just turn on NBC at any given time and you’ll see people skating very fast, or possibly a promo for Andy Samberg’s guest-appearance on Parks and Recreation.

Here’s what you’ll be watching this week!

MONDAY

ABC
8-10 THE BACHELOR: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE – Jake takes the final three on one last date, with the offer of the Fantasy Suite on the table. That’s right, this is the week that we’ll find out who puts out and who doesn’t.
FOX
9-10 24 – Dude, Renee is straight-up, off the rails crazy! She was responsible for the scene last week where three people got stabbed in fifteen seconds. You know, this season has been about 95% good, but I am bored to tears with the annual “CTU Operative faces personal crisis on the same day that the world is imperiled” conceit. If they drop Katee Sackhoff’s character right now and nobody ever mentions her again, I promise not to complain.
TNT
10-11 MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE – Joe’s son’s anxieties worsen, and since last time we saw him, the kid had panic attacks over riding a bus, that can’t be good. Also, Terry meets up with an old acting buddy and Snowflake deals with a tough customer. This show? Is about five times better than you think it is.

“You’re not taking drugs, are you John? I only ask because of the strict zero tolerance policy you’ve enacted, and I wouldn’t want you to have to start punching yourself in the face.” – Charlie Pace

TUESDAY
FOX
8-10 AMERICAN IDOL – The Hollywood Round continues, and we all have to wonder how they’re going to edit around that kid who made the Top 24 and then got disqualified because his dad leaked it.
ABC
9-10 LOST – See, this is a deceptive description. They claim that “Locke goes in search of help to further his cause”, only last time we saw him, Locke was dead (but lying in the shadow of the statue). So unless something wondrous happens, that really means that it’s Look-a-Locke trying to recruit people. This week, it looks like he goes after Sawyer. It’s going to be so awesome!
DISCOVERY
9-10 DIRTY JOBS – It’s a clips show, as Mike looks into some of his best jobs involving tight spaces. Actually, they usually do a really good job of seeding new footage into these packages, so it’s still worth watching. Not moreso than Lost, you understand, but it’ll probably still be good.

David Letterman: Ben Kingsley, Mary J. Blige

Ellen DeGeneres: Sade, "The Bachelor" contestant Ali Fedotowsky
Bonnie Hunt: Dr. Drew Pinsky, Bonnie Hunt's mother Alice
WEDNESDAY
FOX
8-9 HUMAN TARGET – In this episode, Christopher Chance continues to not impersonate his clients, thus making the point of being a Human Target moot. However, this episode guest stars Mitch Pileggi from The X-Files. And also Autumn Reeser from The O.C., but I’m going to pretend not to know who that is.
9-10 AMERICAN IDOL – The Top 24 are announced, so start making your giant cardboard signs of support now!
FX
10-11 NIP/TUCK – Only three episodes left! Sean and Christian make a unique attempt to market their services, while Christian’s unconscious existential crises come to light.

Regis and Kelly: Michelle Williams, Christoph Waltz
Ellen DeGeneres: Tracy Morgan, Danica Patrick
Bonnie Hunt: Betty White, Stephen Dubner, Logan Lerman
THURSDAY
CBS
8-9 SURVIVOR – You know, I really can’t stand last season’s Russell making another appearance. And Coach is an insane blowhard. But I can not even tell you how much I hate Rupert. Why are they trying to sell us on him? Who does he have pictures of that he keeps getting on this show?
ABC
9-10 GREY’S ANATOMY – This episode shows the pasts of some of the main characters from the series. Are you ready for McFetus?
USA
10-11 BURN NOTICE – Sam and Michael investigate a robbery at a fashion house, and Fiona and Michael gain the trust of a Polish Intelligence Officer. Fighting the easy joke about Polish Intelligence…
FX
10-10:30 ARCHER – A bomb threatens the maiden voyage of a luxury airship. You guys, I’m picturing a really fancy blimp, which would be awesome. Oh, also, you should totally watch Archer. If you don’t, you’re not using your TV to its full potential.
COMEDY CENTRAL
10-10:30 IMPORTANT THINGS WITH DEMETRI MARTIN – Demetri explores the concept of strategy. At least for the first five minutes.
10:30-11 THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM – Sarah sues the movie Home Alone, while Brian seeks revenge on a bird that keeps pooing on his head. I love this show so much!
LIFETIME
10-11 PROJECT RUNWAY – I haven’t finished last week’s episode yet, so I really don’t have anything to say at this time. It will probably be good, though.

David Letterman: Scarlett Johansson, Daniel Merriweather

Regis and Kelly: Ben Kingsley
Ellen DeGeneres: Kate Walsh
Bonnie Hunt: Matt Lucas, Camila Alves
FRIDAY
SYFY
9-10 CAPRICA – I’m a little torn on this show – on the one hand, it does have Patton Oswalt in a recurring role and a teenage girl trapped in the body of an old school Cylon. On the other hand, it’s really kind of boring. You can see my dilemma.
HBO
9-9:30 THE RICKY GERVAIS SHOW – Series Premiere! This is kind of cool. Basically, HBO has animated Ricky Gervais’ old podcasts and turned it into a series. Luckily, those podcasts are hilarious. And the cartoon version of Ricky is adorable.

David Letterman: Tom Papa
Jay Leno: Pre-empted for Olympics coverage
Jimmy Kimmel:
Lauren Conrad, Wale
Craig Ferguson: Jennifer Tilly, Peter Sagal
Jimmy Fallon: Pre-empted for Olympics coverage
Carson Daly: Pre-empted for Olympics coverage
Tavis Smiley: William Hurt
Chelsea Lately: Channing Tatum, Sarah Colonna, Jeff Wild, Ross Mathews (R 2/11/10)
The View: Bernadette Peters, dog show host David Frei
Regis and Kelly: Ewan McGregor
Ellen DeGeneres: Kim Kardashian, the latest "American Idol" castoff
SUNDAY
CBS
8-9 THE AMAZING RACE – This season is off to a fantastic start! Not only do we have Big Brother’s Jeff and Jordan, but one team in the premiere forcibly painted somebody’s house as part of a task, only they had the wrong house. Yeah, they just walked into some guy’s house and painted it against his will. Great thing, or greatest thing?
FOX
8-8:30 THE SIMPSONS – Lisa discovers that her ancestor helped free a slave, and she presents the story during Black History Month. There is absolutely nothing about that setup that seems inherently hilarious. Tough to say where they’re going with this one…
CARTOON NETWORK
12-12:30 am AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE – “Eggball” Once again, no information available. Adult Swim refuses to play ball.
Ever yours,
Templeton “The Face” Peck

“Back off! I will make you teensy!” – Myron Reducto
